Alive Inside

Yesterday was alright.  Day trip into the Texas hill country to see the wildflowers.  BBQ in a town that looked like being there at high noon would be a bad idea.  Then out to the country for enchiladas at the writer’s retreat Sam Baker’s been building for years.  We dipped in the river and jumped over a racer snake, looked up birds and spied on spotted deer.  At night, we had to take it slow on the highway because the cattle were out.
